Ok now me personnely I have been waiting for this type of technology for a very long time, its an insane step up from the VirtualboyTM and not only this product in particular but its a lot better in comparison to other personal viewers also. (Google> Personal Viewer Glasses/Goggles besides Sony's HMZT1 THEY ALL FUCKING SUCK!) I actually had the opportunity to go into a Sony store in New Jersey and sit down with this thing for about a hour and a half. (My little sister is a manager there) Why only a hour and a half you ask well because I went two hours before opening. If it was up to me I would have played with that thing all day or even had bought it.(Not available for sale yet) Ok now listen, The HMZT1 is not perfect yes this is true, but the only flaw note worthy is the fact that it takes a bit of time to get comfortable with this thing on your head. When it is finally on and you are relaxed, after about hour and
a half you began to feel pressure on the front of your forehead. Any other problem with this device can be solved simply by using it in a dark room,(There's a bit of glare on the small led screens inside the HMZT1 along with light seeping in from the bottom of the device) I have already pre-ordered mine because as far as the issue with pressure on your forehead goes this problem can easily be solved by any person with a bit of common sense and some sort of creativity, for example I feel like this guy right here has the right idea

Ok allot of people I talk to Via email, social media, people in my daily life and so on and so fourth tell me they feel like the HMD-HMZT1 is umm. Like they say that uhh ummmmmm well I think this video pretty much sums up not only how people I talk to feel but probably how you feel to check it out and let me know if i'm right

I enjoy the picture and sound BUT they messed up on the design and should have put a strap over the top from the back of your head to the front. that would have prevented the gradual slipping down your forehead. I still like them (bought 3). Took many uses to see how many ways you can adjust the straps for comfort, I think I have it now using the "top" forehead mount and not the bottom, the middle size cushion is best for my huge cranium :) I would reccommend the "next version" if they change the mounting straps. This one will HURT your head after about an hour or so and force a break.
ReplyDeleteI think this is a great device. It has a great field of view and display quality, which has been hard to find in HMDs in the past, and the 3d effect is VERY good. It works great with the nVidia 3DTVPlay product for playing games in 3d on the PC. Skyrim looks outstanding.
ReplyDeleteThe only downside is the unit is too heavy for extended use. They really need to take a look at a more cut-down design such as the Emagin Z800 had. If they could reduce the weight, this would be an outstanding product. I hope they release a version 2 of this product which is lighter in weight, because it would be a shame if this unit failed commercially, as many HMDs have in the past.
